1 Cor 3:7 So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.

Lord, its funny how we so often try to work in our own strength. To use worldly wisdom while doing work for you. Lord, build us up.

As Carmen said, GOD IS GOOD!

Psalm 142
I cry aloud to the Lord;
I lift up my voice to the Lord for mercy.
I pour out my complaint before him;
before him i tell my touble.

When my spirit grows faint within me, it is you who know my way.
In the path where I walk
men have hidden a snare for me.
Look to my right and see;
no one is concerned for me.
I have no refuge;
no one cares for my life.

I cry to you, O Lord;
I say, "You are my refuge,
my portion in the land of the living."
Listen to my cry,
for I am in desperate need;
rescue me from those who pursue me,
for they are too strong for me.
Set me free from my prison,
that I may praise your name.

Then the righteous will gather about me
because of your goodness to me.

I am weary Lord, I need you...your guidance, your support, your help. free me from my selfish ways, my prison of sin. be my refuge, my rock, my strength.

1 Cor. 2:1-5
I think that's how I feel...well sorta. I am not eloquent...and i remember coming to Kyrios with weakness fear and trembling. Geez, I still feel that way at times. But unlike Paul, I don't always have the resolve to make Christ and his crucifixtion. Its like an on again off again resolve for me. But that is what i want and need to aim for. Spirit, open my hardened heart...help me to ignore my own strength and really let you do your work

1 Corinthians 1:23 But we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles v.25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.

funny how God seems like folly to non-believers, when it is really us who are the fools.

Lord, thank you for blessing us beyond what we deserve...

hello blogger...again a long absence on my part.
Gal. 6:9-10 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers
Just read that tonite...kinda of a nice encouragement to press on in ministry. Hope it is encouraging to others to keep pressing on, even though it may seem like things are going no where. For those of you trying to witness to your friends, or parents, don't give up...be patient...wait upon the Lord. Find strength in Him. Like Kinson said, we need to shine...we need to be the salt and light. The only way to keep that up is through CONSTANT communion with God...having the family of believers to support you helps too. I'm gonna try and post more frequently with tidbits from my devotions...a way to keep myself accountable, and a chance to share my insights too.
