i love going to church on sundays. always gaining some insights and treasures from the sermons. so different from all the other churches i've been to. we actually have the same pastor who speaks all the time, but's it's good because he's very gifted at it. just wanted to jot down a few paraphrases from Gene Tempelmeyer over the past months...


Jesus is God with us and the Spirit is God in us.


We have a hard time accepting grace. Even when God has forgiven us, we continue to hang on to the guilt of our sins.


Give people a place to belong so that they can believe. Don't make them believe so that they can belong.


Include some non-Christians in missions (i.e. taking care of others physically, socially and spiritually). Let them see and experience Jesus heal and change lives.


Jesus doesn't mean that we have to hate our mother and family to follow him. He knows that these are the strongest human bonds we have. He's saying we should love Him so much that even the love we have for our families pale in comparison.


Christianity is fun! If you're not having fun during this service, then we're doing something wrong!
